Meet Michael!
How long have you been working at Comsearch?
I joined in March of 2019, so I just celebrated my 6th anniversary.
What inspires or excites you the most about working in this industry?
I’ve worked in this industry for most of my career, and I’ve gotten to experience it from several different roles. The main thing that’s always excited me is seeing all the change and rapid improvements over the past 20 years.
What skills have you developed since joining the company?
I’d say my ability to quickly change gears depending on the task that I’m working on. My role is fast-paced, and many clients have different requirements based on their needs, so it’s important to stay focused.
What is the best compliment or positive feedback have you received from a client/coworker/manager?
My manager once told me that I’m an asset and that she trusts my instincts. That meant a lot to me.
How do you balance your work and personal life?
Probably not very well. I’m usually super busy in life, so I don’t spend as much time taking care of myself as I should.
When you’re not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
I read a lot, usually 30-40 books per year, and my brother is an author, so I spend a lot of time at various bookstores or helping him with one of his novels. Aside from that, I’m a diehard Red Sox fan, so I try to get out to Fenway as often as possible, and I watch or listen to most games.
How do you stay motivated and inspired in your role?
Overall, I like to be helpful, so it’s easy to stay motivated in my role because I get to be helpful every day to our clients and to my coworkers.
What’s your favorite way to spend the day off?
Going for a long hike through the woods in the warmer months and hanging out in a coffee shop with a book in the colder months.
If you could have any fictional character as a colleague, who would it be and why?
I’m going to do us all a favor and say Michael Scott from The Office. How could any day at work be bad when your boss cooks his foot on a Foreman grill?
What was your very first job, and what did it teach you?
My first job was mopping floors at a nursing home when I was 14. It taught me empathy, respect, and all about General Hospital.
